When the owner of this 2006 TJ with under 74,000 miles contacted us about providing them with one of our Wranglersdirect physical exams, we, of course, said sure bring her down.

They wanted to sell her and knew our report would make for a much easier process for them and for the new buyer. From the first moment she came in we were impressed. First off the incredibly low miles is a rarity, second off no one has ever touched this jeep except for its normal maintenance. The underbodies condition is actually almost too nice. I mean it’s incredible to see on a TJ that has spent its entire life in Rhode Island. The floors, the frame and all those other areas of concern “immaculate” is the word we used. We called the owner to inquire about its history and found that it’s been garaged all its life. They knew the original owner and it basically went from his garage to theirs.

For both owners, it was always an extra toy for the summer and they couldn’t ever remember it being out in the snow. The Jeep had been sitting for the last couple of years just taking up garage space and it was just time to cut her loose. Through our inspection, we found the following. New brakes would be required front and back. 2. pinion seal showed some seepage and we recommended replacement and 3. Valve cover gasket was starting leak from the back which very possibly just needed to be tightened down and cleaned up.

All things listed were most likely due to lack of use more than anything else. Once we finished our report we informed the owner of our findings and gave them an estimate to do the necessary work. Then a great thing happened when they came to pick up the Wrangler they asked if we would be interested in buying it or helping them sell it.
